Our Year in Review

We at 773 Dance Project are excited to share a recap of our 2021 year. As an organization that focuses on empowering and helping the community, we are proud of the efforts put forth in the past year. We held two dancewear giveaway events where we provided size-inclusive leotards, tights, dance shoes (ballet, jazz, and tap), warm-ups, and other various dance items to the community completely free. The total of the items surpassed $10,000. All items were graciously donated by CDS, Plie Dancewear, Wear Moi, and Toe The Line. We plan to maintain this even biannually and continue to cater to the community and its needs.

In addition to the successful giveaway, 773 Dance Project held multiple dance workshops throughout the summer. We partnered with EyeLoveYouChi; a nonprofit organization focused on offering underprivileged youth on the South and West sides of Chicago a free summer program and taught dance classes to the camp participants. We also provided a small dancing in the park series, where teachers and students of all ages and experience levels came together to bring summer to an end. The series lasted one week, with two different classes offered. The first class was Zumba, taught by Kimberly Rudd, held at the Washington Park tennis court. The second free class was Hip-Hop, led by Cherlora Williamson and held at the Marquette Park tennis courts.

Finally, the company debuted a new t-shirt to compliment the previous shirt for sale. We are so excited about what we have planned for 2022 and cannot wait to share it all with the community! Be sure to follow us on our social media platforms and subscribe to our mailing list to stay up to date on all of the exciting events to come.
